McKinley Building Corporation was proud to partner with Manheim, a Cox Automotive company and the nation’s leading provider of vehicle remarketing services, on the construction of their state-of-the-art auto auction facility in Rocky Point, NC. Situated on approximately 75 acres just off U.S. Highway 117, the project included the construction of a 40,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building and extensive site development to support high-volume vehicle storage, movement, and processing.
The facility was designed to streamline vehicle auction operations, featuring 10 service bays, multiple drive-through lanes, and advanced traffic striping and flow management to efficiently handle hundreds of vehicles per day. With dedicated areas for inspection, detailing, and office operations, the building supports both auction-day logistics and day-to-day operational needs.
Manheim Wilmington’s new location increases service capacity for eastern North Carolina and the surrounding region, with parking and staging capacity for over 1,500 vehicles. The project also included significant sitework for stormwater management, lighting, and security infrastructure.
This development showcases McKinley’s ability to deliver large-scale, operationally complex industrial facilities on aggressive timelines—balancing durability, efficiency, and client-specific functionality in one of the state’s fastest-growing regions.
