As we look back on the second half of the year, one milestone stands out as a powerful testament to the impact of a thoughtful and collaborative design-build process: the groundbreaking of Coastal Horizons’ new administration building in Wilmington. This project has been years in the making, and from day one, our McKinley team worked hand-in-hand with Coastal Horizons leadership and the LS3P design team to establish the foundations that make design-build successful — clear communication, aligned expectations, and transparent coordination around scope, budget, and schedule.
That early partnership created momentum that has carried directly into construction, ensuring Coastal Horizons will receive a high-performing facility designed to support their critical mission for decades. As a local nonprofit dedicated to strengthening individuals and families through comprehensive health and crisis services, their work touches thousands across southeastern North Carolina. We’re honored to contribute to a space that will allow their team to expand programs, improve efficiency, and better serve the community.
